a week agoFish & chips was very good. Peas seemed fresh. Steak & Ale pie, very nice as well. Nice mash, fresh tasting peas. Slaw,,,was average to below average. Staff made it a better experience. We would come back. P.S. only the good Fairy what lives in the sky and grants wishes gets 5 stars

2 months agoI had the crispy smashed potatoes plus karange sticky chicken while my companion had steak and ale pie. Both very happy with our food and Guinness. Unfortunately the Sunday roast has run out. Certainly recommend.

3 weeks agoNot a very tourist friendly pub. We weren't sure how to be seated or how to order when we went in. Had to ask someone passing by. The server did tell us just to take a seat review the menu and then go to the bar to order. Table was dirty with rubbish on the side of the table and she never came back to wipe it off. We did ask another server if they would wipe it off and she did but left the trash on the side of the table. Food was good but not anything special. You must pay at the bar when you order. Pub atmosphere was ok but the place is very loud even without being overly crowded. We knew it was a pub and we're fine with that but got off to a bad start.

6 months agoClassic Pub Trying to write reviews for the Cambridge pubs therefore entered the restaurant. The Sunday roast was in generous amount. Everything was okay except for the potatoes. The potatoes tasted so bland that required to dip the gravy to finish. While the fries of the burger was just warm, not hot enough. The staff were friendly and nice. Cosy and clean environment. Seats are comfortable. Tables are not too close to each other. It's located in the Cambridge town centre but the prices are surprisingly reasonable. Large portions of food. Overall it's a reasonable restaurant.

a month agoWe waited well over an hour for our food but having chatted with staff they said the rain had driven in far more customers than usual and they were short staffed. There seemed to be only 4 staff serving a very large pub and they were all polite and friendly given the pressure they were under. The food was actually very good when it finally arrived. I would visit again and give them a second chance.
