Formerly situated in retail premises on Jewry Street in Winchester, we purchased new commercial premises in Ocean Village, Southampton, in 2021, to accomodate our growing contract work. However we still offer a range of one off services for home customers. See the further sections (below and right) for more about our history, team, customer focused training, and services we offer.

Long-Term & Ad Hoc Support

If you are a Hampshire business in need of long term technical support, we can offer tailored contract solutions. Please call or email to setup a meeting to discuss your requirements.

For homes and small businesses with one off support requirements, although we have expanded our business contract side, we can still help smaller customers with repairs and support in Winchester, Southampton or wider Hampshire.

We offer one off ad hoc remote support sessions for £40, callouts for £120 to your home or office, and we now offer collect and return fixed rate repairs (excluding parts) for £80 for all jobs (that exclude soldering/heatgun work, with all prices quoted include taxes and fees).

For ongoing support, or for larger jobs, we also offer blocks of hours at a reduced price per hour, with no expiry or contract (see ‘Blocks of Hours’ section below for more details).​

Our Story
Computer Solutions Winchester was established in 1999 with one mission: to deliver high quality, low jargon technology support to home and business customers at a reasonable price. After twenty five years and over a hundred thousand jobs, we are sure to be able to help with your technology needs.

It all started with James Dickens going to work for Paul Kane & Tom Gill on Jewry Street in Winchester. Having been trained up himself, James was made partner and went on to train over forty other technicians over the years. ​

It is the same emphasis on giving young technicians a chance to grow and gain experience from their seniors that has remained the bedrock for our company and it started with James learning from Tom and Paul.​

Our Team & Our Customer Focused Training
We train our technicians to a high standard, not just technically but in customer service and the ability to speak plain English. Currently we have a senior technician, James the manager and director, as well as a new junior in training starting soon to replace the outgoing Krystian (pictured) who we wish well in his new corporate support role, as well as Neil and Nicola in administrative roles.

As a small team that has successfully managed tens of thousands of repairs over the years,  for several thousand customers. We rely not only on our CompTia and Microsoft training but have gone further to develop our own standards of training. What really sets us apart is that besides the industry accreditation our technicians attain, we train our staff to consider their goal as primarily to attain customer needs, rather than just fixing a technical problem.

    I had my computer upgraded with more ram. They were very helpful. I felt they had my best interests at heart rather than selling me upgrades I didn't necessarily need. I paid £100 and my computer feels like new. They also helped resolved issues remotely without charging me for the service. I have been using them for 10 years now and have always found the service great.

    I had great confidence in using this company. They were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable, fixing my issue the next day despite being busy. They have great customer service, rang me to let me know my computer was ready and to talk through the issue clearly and patiently and then when I went in to collect it, they took the time to add an additional security setting and talk me through how to utilise it. I will certainly go straight back to them in case of any future computer problems.

    Excellent service. I had an issue with a desktop PC, which they diagnosed quickly. They then advised me it would cost me a lot less to order the part myself, as for some daft reason trade prices are a lot higher than consumer prices for the part. Then I dropped the part off to them today (which was a replacement motherboard) and I had the call to tell me it was fixed little more than an hour later. Thanks to Diego who did a sterling job, keeping me informed. Highly recommended.

    I brought in my laptop becaused I'd popped two keys off in a silly mistake. Thankfully, Billy very kindly fixed them back on, in minutes. He was approachable and helpful, and in the times I've been to the store in the past couple years (with a previous broken laptop), I find the staff are always this pleasant. Very efficient service, always helpful, and they clearly have good IT knowledge. I would recommend this shop to anyone in need of repairs or advice. :)

    Very friendly service, but has possibly slipped a little on moving location. Recovered my hard drive, but didn't fully recreate the user profiles on windows reinstall. Also didn't reinstall the windows recovery environment, so I can't create recovery media or backups. Poor at returning calls - haven't responded to calls requesting reinstalling the recovery environment. Very disappointing.
