a month agoI just saw this store featured on BBC's Winter Walks series (Sayeeda Warsi episode) and thought it to be a lovely feature of the village - valuable to the community in this age of big corporate supermarkets. I confess I haven't personally been, as am based in India (haha), but I found the interaction with the gentleman owner quite heartening. I wasn't planning on reviewing but came across a previous negative and spurious review that reviewed the store for what it isn't than what it is. Didn't sound fair so had to counteract it. UK is lucky to have such quirky stores, and one day I hope to walk through the doors, greet the owner and buy a few things. Until then, please keep going! Best wishes,

10 months agoI did a 23 mile walk from Horton-in-Ribblesdale to Kettlewell on a spectacularly roasting hot day. 1.8l water enough to get me to Kettlewell but I needed more fluid and salt. So I injected the price of 2 x bags of crisps and 2 x sparkling waters into the local economy. Would be catching a bus back to Skipton. The chap at the counter very helpful in telling me the route the bus would take. Tbh eyes only really on the water and crisps so I couldn't be sure what else was on sale. Definitely did the trick for me.

a year agoGreat little village shop, very friendly service and a great selection of items for residents and visitors. Lots of sweet treats to keep you going if you're passing through hiking or biking. Sorry we cleared you out of water! Many thanks Simon. a year agoAn absolute lifeline for village residents and holiday makers alike, the Village Store is family run and stocked with everyday essentials, drinks and snacks, as well as more gourmet treats that showcase some of the best local food producers. They sell a range of greetings cards and gifts, as well as items from the craft shop downstairs, Giggle Squiggle, making it easy to stock up on things to keep the kids entertained on a rainy day, as well as supplies for more serious crafters. Service is friendly and helpful, and there is even a DPD drop-off/collection point. Highly recommended :)
