The Brockweir Village Shop and Cafe has been serving our local community and
visitors in this beautiful part of the Wye Valley near Tintern and the Forest of Dean
since 2004.
We are so delighted to welcome all our customers to the newly reinstated shop and
cafe after the 18 month period of disruption following the fire which caused serious
damage to the building in 2023.
We are a not for profit, community owned and run business, prioritising local
suppliers with a focus on sustainability. We are staffed by volunteers with a full time
general manager and a cafe manager.
The shop stocks a wide variety of both essential and speciality foods and household
goods and local produce. We also sell a wide variety of local information, maps and
guides, cards and gifts.
The cafe provides a congenial hub and community meeting point with both an inside
and outside seating area which overlook the Wye valley and adjacent children’s play
area. We are a destination of choice for both locals and visitors alike and a well
situated stopping off point for cyclists and ramblers. Dogs are welcome.
Parking provides level access to the premises.

2 months agoReally lovely little cafe, with a good selection of home made pies and snacks, fresh vegetables and sundrys. Panini's, pizza, and soup were lovely, and the price was half what all of the other local cafes were charging.. Add a sunny garden with a play area for the kids - win win!

2 months agoReally lovely little place, had some toasties which were far nicer than we expected, with an interesting range of drinks and cakes also. All very yummy! Went there a few times during our stay in the area and the young girls working doing the coffee etc most of the time seem to be really putting a lot of effort in to making it a great place to be, the coffee was the quality you’d expect from a fancy city center coffee shop and they had a better range of cakes than i’ve ever seen anywhere else. The volunteers were so lovely to chat to. Range in the shop was interesting, bought some really yummy sausage rolls and lovely smelling candles. A bit more expensive than other places but we didn’t mind considering the community aspects of the shop

6 years agoFriendly, well stocked volunteer run eco shop. Good range of produce, local bread, jams and preserves, meat from local farms and high quality packaged goods. Can be quite expensive if you are not careful. Outside is a zip wire and play area for children as well as a terrace serving the cafe.

3 years agoA little gem in the countryside. Lovely lunch meals in the shop. The homemade Bean Soup was especially delicious. The variety of products and food in the store is wonderful. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Lots of parking available in a very nice location.

2 years agoLove this place! The cafe and shop are run by an amazing team of volunteers and they have just updated the playpark on the field outside. It's a great place to have coffee/ cake and/ or lunch whilst the kids play. We will be back again soon ☕🍰🚸
