Walked in on the off chance there was a vacant table, was in luck! Stunning massive conservatory to eat in, more like an orangery, was so big light and airy, plenty of space, yet still cosy too. The staff were extremely polite, formal and helpful. There must have been a mark on a knife that the waiter was about to lay down and he immediately took it away, provided a fresh knife and wiped all cutlery before laying them down, I didnt even see a mark must have literally been a speck of dust! Very high standards here, the service and etiquette is above and beyond. The food matches the service, I ordered octopus, I'm not one to be squeamish and I always love to try new foods and octopus has been on my food bucket list for a while. It did not disappoint! It even trumped my old favourite calamari! The chips were amazing, they weren't any old chips, I don't know how they do it but they made them heavenly and I'm not a big fan of chips, usually! My main, a home made lamb burger was divine, perfectly seasoned and cooked, full of flavour, not greasy or tough. A extremely good meal. When I'm next in Oxford I will be coming back to Gees! ❤️

A gem of a restaurant with great service from pleasant and enthusiastic servers. A lovely bright dining area in a large victorian conservatory, dishes are Mediterranean style with an Italian and Spanish flare. We dined in the conservatory but on warm spring, summer or autumn days there is a delightful garden area. Only down side is the lack of parking although there is paid road side bays in the road opposite. Really worth a visit I don’t think you’ll be disappointed, bookings (recommended) for both lunch and dinner, can be made via the phone or their website.

gees is definitely the place to be for an elevated dining experience and impeccable service especially around the time we went in when it was quite busy. the food we ordered was sent to the table timely and allergens were taken care of. i had the well done lamb burger which came with chips and a mint dill dip which i still dream of! it was fresh and juicy lamb with the same spread as you get with your chips. max took care of our drinks and we had staff come in and ask if everything was alright. overall a fun night with friends.

Amazing place with delicious food and best service we could imagine. Alain, who looked after us yesterday was so amazing. He was attentive and very kind to us and made everyone at the party feel so at home. Thank you Alain we will never forget your kindness🥂 Already planning for anniversary party to have at Gees!

What an amazing place to dine in! As soon as you enter you’re greeted by the warmest staff who usher you to your seats. The place itself has elite vibe. Beautiful glass windows, warm lights and amazing music creates a confluence of magic. Max came up to our table with the drinks and checked in on us multiple times throughout our time at the restaurant. Ewelina was so kind while taking orders, she cross checked for allergies and made it a point to brief us about the dish before serving. I ordered the Hake and mussels and it was absolutely delicious! If you love seafood this is the dish for you! And for dessert I had Chocolate Nemesis, which was divine. If it were me, I could’ve ordered for two more servings. ❤️ Enjoyed my time dining at Gees! 10/10 recommend.
