The Poachers Pocket Bacton.
A prime waterside location and an enviable selection of leisure, chalets, pub, dining, and events facilities.
Poachers Pocket is much more than a guest house; it’s a one-of-a-kind destination
We visited for a family dinner, and unfortunately, the highlights were limited to the budgies in the cage and, perhaps, the view. The menu descriptions are far more appealing than what actually arrives at the table—both in appearance and taste. The vegetables and chips appear to be straight from the frozen aisle of a supermarket, yet mains are priced at around £20. To make matters worse, our experience ended with the waitress claiming we had underpaid and taking an additional £10—despite our bill being settled in full. On top of that, we had to wait on ourselves half of the time, carrying the empty glasses away. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this establishment 🚫🚫🚫
a beautiful Syrian family runs this place incredible food and vibes. Most beautiful beach views and parking BUT most importantly the toilets are immaculate and incredible. Marble glorious and massive. Stop here for a drink and a loo break at the very least
Spontaneous overnight trip we ended up staying here, we stayed in the apartment upstairs. The place was perfect; 2 bedrooms, bathroom and family room/ kitchen. Nicely decorated, clean, tvs in all rooms, sea view and the beds were really comfortable. We didn’t end up eating in the pub but it looked pleasant when we checked in, you could even get directly on the beach from this location and the beach was fab too.
For our six-year anniversary, we decided to have lunch at the Poachers Pocket, where we were warmly greeted by the staff and seated at a table with a stunning view of the sea. I indulged in the fish and chips, which were absolutely delightful—perfectly battered cod accompanied by golden chips and peas. Since it was a special occasion, I treated myself to dessert and coffee, enjoying a decadent chocolate ice cream sundae topped with a generous dollop of whipped cream The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and the venue boasted fantastic facilities, including a games room. We will definitely be back soon, as we had a truly wonderful experience. 👍
Went for a family dinner , 6 of us, some food was nice , and some was not .
Unfortunately my son ordered a chicken Kiev what was on top of a bed of mayonnaise- he is allergic to mayo and I asked for one without mayo - it returned 5 mins later , my son started eating it, then noticed mayo around the sides still, it had been washed and heated up - so I believe.
It was removed from the bill.
My daughter didn’t get her ice cream with kids meal.
Sorry guys needs work .
