The Botanist Cardiff Bay

Staff came out, assisted me to where the lift is so we could sit upstairs - Even though I requested downstairs. They made the right decision to sit five Wheelchair users upstairs because that’s where the disabled toilet was so thank you so much for the initiative and understanding there. removed dining chairs ready so we didn’t have to make too much of a fuss on arrival and feel embarrassed so that was a great feeling. Thank you. warm welcome. Food was delicious. Decor and Staff lovely. Disabled toilet and lift up and down to see a nice view of the bay.

Just went here on a Sunday evening meal. The meals came and my beef dinner aswell as others were lukewarm which isn’t a massive issue but it could’ve been warmer. We had two small vegetable bowls between 6 Sunday dinners! More veg could’ve been given as we ended up with one Brocoli and little carrots! One person didn’t even get any veg because there was barely any! Then when we asked for one more we would’ve had to pay extra? I work in hospitality as a waitress and where I work this isn’t an issue! The other two had chicken burgers which they said wasn’t very good. No flavour to the ultimate chicken burger at all! And the cheese patty inside it was absolutely awful. Although service was good but the food portions! Food was nice but due to my experience here I’m not in any rush to come back! More vegetables could’ve been given! Not much was given to us at all! Sorry but that is my honest opinion! Starters was very lovely though but that’s the only high point of my experience personally. Also where we was sat we was quite cold.

So busy as it was 5th Dec. Didn’t wait long for food, it was delicious. Celebrated my mum’s 80th and the staff let us get on decorating the table and doing a cake etc. They were so busy, but amazing and friendly. Very clean and will return. Live entertainment was great as well.

We went here on a Saturday evening, we managed to get a cosy table in the corner and stayed there most of the evening. It was a lovely venue with a great atmosphere. Staff were welcoming and friendly and knowledgeable about various drinks. We didn"t have food but have rated 5 star as have to put something and the selection of food looked amazing (we have also eaten at a Botentist before food was great) There was a live band on which was really good, also not too loud so people can still talk. I had a few different cocktails and they were all well made, the bar man recommended his favourite drink, which we had and it was the best of the night. Toilets were clean and well stocked with lovely smelling soap! We went for one and stayed for 4 drinks!

First time at the Bay restaurant and was not disappointed. Was greeted on a very damp Saturday afternoon by a lovely young lady who had excellent customer service. Was made to feel welcome right away. Our table was ready and was introduced to our waitress. Choice of food was excellent and had the Kebab with chunky chips. Food was delivered very quickly which was great for us as we had a show in the Millennium Centre to see. The mocktail was delicious so was the cheesecake. I will definitely be returning to the restaurant when in the bay again.
